Many of Durham Public Schools learning resources are accessible through student NC EdCloud accounts. It is a good idea to make sure you and student(s) know how to log in to NC EdCloud to access PowerSchool and other resources.

The information and links below are information from Durham Public Schools about the core curriculum resources used in elementary classrooms across DPS. They are meant to help parents learn about and /or access those resources from home.

Eureka Math - Mathematics (Grades K - 5)

Eureka Math is our core mathematics program. Learn more about the program here.

Letterland - Literacy - Phonics - (Grades K - 2)

  • Letterland is the resource used in most DPS schools to support early literacy. The program focuses on phonemic awareness (the ability to identify and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words) and phonics (connection between letter symbols and sounds). This resource is used for instruction in our Kindergarten - 2nd grade classrooms as they are learning to read. To learn more about Letterland, click here.

Study Island - 5th Grade Science

  • Study Island helps students master state-specific, grade-level academic standards in a fun and engaging manner. Study Island combines rigorous content that is highly customized to specific state standards with interactive features and games that engage students and reinforce and reward learning achievement.

McGraw Hill - Grades K - 5 Social Studies

Physical Education and Activity Resources

  • Go Noodle - this website provides structured physical activity and mindfulness exercises. This site is great for brain breaks between learning tasks!
  • Cosmic Yoga - free yoga and mindfulness videos for children ages 3+

Virtual Field Trips

This is a link to 30 virtual field trips where students can virtually visit different locations.

  • Camp Immokalee - YMCA Camp Immokalee is offering free live stream camp activities via their Instagram and Facebook page for children years 4-15 years old, including yoga, nature crafts, arts & crafts activities and much more.
